A successful and seasoned business entrepreneur of over 30 years, Mr. Ellis Block has owned and operated numerous mid-market companies. Such ventures include a fully integrated scrap iron and metal recycling company located in Temple, Pennsylvania and a variety of environmental companies providing contaminated soil recycling, waste transportation, and air quality consulting services. Since 1996, Mr. Block has acquired multiple environmentally contaminated real estate properties, known as “Brownfield Sites.” He successfully performed the first cleanup of a Special Industrial Area under Pennsylvania’s Land Recycling Act. Mr. Block continues to invest in Brownfield properties and other commercial real estate ventures. Currently, Mr. Block also invests in several automobile dealerships and alternative energy businesses.
In 1990, Mr. Block became a member of the Young President’s Organization (“YPO”), an exclusive, international, nonprofit organization of company presidents and chief executive officers around the world. He is currently active in the organization as lifetime member of World President’s Organization (“WPO”).
Mr. Block was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1954. He graduated with honors from Kutztown University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, since 1977 and has 3 children: Marla, Joel, and Adam
Mr. Seltzer is a senior partner who has represented domestic and international electric utility clients in a variety of matters including complex retail rate cases, state-wide facility siting proceedings, and financing, contracting and related matters involving non-utility generation facilities. He concentrates on both transactional issues and litigation-related matters before various state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Mr. Seltzer has most recently worked on emerging structures to mitigate the risks of constructing new electric generating facilities, as well as reliability benchmarking and quality of service issues in the deregulated generation market.
Mr. Povilaitis is a partner focusing on various administrative law matters before various state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Povilaitis served as Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission from January 1989 to February 1998. He joined the Commission in 1978, and successively served as Assistant Counsel, Deputy Chief Counsel, and First Deputy Chief Counsel, before assuming the position of Chief Counsel. He is a past chairperson of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Public Utility Law Section and Editor of the Section’s Newsletter. Since 1990, he has been a course planner and speaker at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s biannual Public Utility Law Conference.
Mr. Ogden is a senior partner who provides legal counsel to major corporate and public utility clients in complex business transactions, in the issuance of securities and other financial arrangements, and in litigation and regulatory compliance. His background includes extensive experience in administrative, regulatory, trial court, and appellate court proceedings, along with major retail public utility rate litigation, statewide public utility facilities siting, municipal land use and eminent domain proceedings, and related civil court and appellate court litigation.
A successful business entrepreneur of over 25 years, Mr. Joseph Lord owned and operated Knight’s Rental Inc., a full-service tent and event rental business in Wyomissing, PA. He built a clientele base which ranged from local to regional in scope, covering Southeastern Pennsylvania. One of the many successful events that Mr. Lord secured and coordinated was the Kutztown Pennsylvania German Festival, one of the Top Ten Craft events in the USA. Mr. Lord continues to invest in commercial real estate ventures.
In 2007 Mr. Lord successfully ran for, and was elected to, Wyomissing Borough Council, where he sits on several committees including economic development, recreation, fire & police, and refuse & recycling.
